Bring Your Own Design (BYO)
-
Depending upon your project, generally the first step in landscape construction is to obtain a building permit. We’ve successfully applied for many permits over the years, including council application management, and engineer certifications & compliance reports.
-
Once permits have been obtained we start to construct! The next stage of the landscape construction process is excavation. Digging all the footings, post and stump holes and clearing unwanted vegetation. This stage alone generally makes a huge change and difference to the site.
-
Pouring concrete footings for walls, concreting stumps and posts into position and concreting foundations for paved areas generally follows excavation. Once the footings and foundations are finalised, all the hard surfaces can begin to be installed such as concrete paths, driveways, fencing, brick work, decks, and pergolas.
-
Once the hardscape elements are installed in the garden, the softscape elements can begin to be installed. Spread and levelling soil over garden beds, planting out garden beds, installing edging, laying lawn and mulching.
Appropriate lighting to help you move through the garden at night, whilst also lighting up focal points is an essential final touch.
-
To ensure your garden gets the right kickstart it needs to establish, we will spend as long as required having a final walk through your new garden discussing exactly what's required to care and maintain your new landscape. We will show you exactly how to use your new irrigation controller and garden lighting.
Design + Construction
-
Generally, some topics to consider for discussion would include; entertainment, shade, decking, lawn areas, formal or informal style, low or high maintenance, types of plants, images you've found which you would like to see in your own space, likes/dislikes and construction budget.
-
Upon acceptance of our project proposal we will arrange to visit your site for a second time to undertake site analysis including, photos, measurements and topography of the site. This information is crucial in understanding the functionality of the site.
-
We present the initial landscape design to you in our showroom in Blackburn. At this meeting you will have an opportunity to add extra input into the design and give feedback on the ideas presented.
-
At the initial design presentation we will also present you with some detailed construction costs, itemised as best we can. Knowing what items cost will help you make better decisions and influence your two rounds of changes.
Upon acceptance of the construction quote, a fixed price contract will be prepared for signatures, ensuring that once signed, the price of construction will not change unless you add or delete items from the project as it progresses.
